Colecovision

The Colecovision was the company Coleco's third generation game system. Before that they had the telestar colorton and the telestar arcade. The new two technologies the Colecovision introduced was that the system could be upgraded and that the fact that it would operate games from other operating systems.

The units controller were were flat like a tv remote and had a child friendly number pad. It also allowed users to insert customized buttons. There was many available upgrades around such as the Expansion Module #2 which was a steering wheel with and foot pedel for gas. Although it only worked with two games (Dukes of hazzard & Destructor) is was a huge success.

Aprox. 170 game titles were released in total between 1982 to 1984. Over 500,000 systems of Colecovision were sold upon 6 months after its release thanks to the bundled games package and that Donkey Kong(by nintendo), was featured first for Colecovision. Mainly all of the games for Colecovision were originally coin operated games such as pacman, mouse trap, Lady Bug, space panic, and carnival.
